The Guild exists to further all forms of railway modelling in 7mm. scale or O gauge track. With over 5500 members including over 500 outside the U.K. the Guild is a focus for O gauge modellers to meet, share and enjoy their mutual interest.
In Europe and in many other parts of the world the scale is 7mm to one foot of the prototype which equates to a scale factor of 43.5 to 1. In the USA, O scale is usually defined as 48 to 1 scale, or quarter inch to the foot. Despite the scale difference, American O scale runs on the same track gauge (32mm or 1.25 inches) as European O gauge.
Our quarterly Gazette, an all colour magazine of 96 pages, is posted to all members. All Gazettes, from the very first newsletter in 1956 are available to members on line with a searchable index.
