Model Name:
(7mm FS) Ex-GWR Siphon C - Sausage Wagon (Harris of Calne)
Description:
7mm scale GW wagon as adapted and used for distributing sausages produced by Harris's of Calne (where I had a summer job some years ago …..late 1950's?). The company is no more, but in its prime distributed sausages and other pork based edibles to parts of the West of England. I have imagined one passing through Okehampton in constructing the roof boards using PC printer. Vehicle kit purchased via O gauge trade supplier. Additional details were found in a hobby magazine.
Model Name:
(4mm EM) ex GWR Siphon G 4mm
Description:
This is a Blacksmith Models 4mm etched kit but built on a more modern and detailed Geen etched underframe. Masokits gangways have been added and it is turned out in Precision faded crimson livery with CCT transfers.
Model Name:
(7mm FS) Ex-GWR Siphon H
Description:
GWR Siphon H model made from an Ian Kirk kit with useless roof and wrong bogie.
The sides, ends and underframe were the only bits used from the kit, although I replaced the poor mouldings of the underfloor tanks with turned plastic ones. The bogies were designed on CAD and laser cut with 3D printed axle boxes. The roof was made on a PLA extrusion 3D printer in two halves as it was too long to fit in one go. The surface of the roof was sanded and filled which disguised the join.
