Introduction to DCC. “What's all this DCC Stuff and Why” is Mick's introduction to explaining DCC, well worth a read for any newcomer or anybody who wants to understand more about DCC.

Setting up a DCC decoder. A step by step demonstration of using DecoderPro to setup a DCC chip in a loco. James covers the basics, setting dresses, top speed, etc., through more complex areas such as speed tables and inertia through to sound.

8 Criteria for good DCC sound. There are several things you can do to improve the performance of DCC sound in your loco, Mick looks at the main ones. We have also included the original article Mick wrote for the Scalefour Society on the same subject but with added illustrations and pictures.

Do I need a Layout Control Bus?. A Layout Control Bus (LCB) can be used to control everything else on your layout other than trains, whether they are DCC or DC. Roger looks at the advantages and options.
